I went to Yamo with a friend after seeing "The Punk Singer" (super awesome documentary about Kathleen Hanna). Yamo is a Burmese/Chinese place off Mission. Its one of those hole in the wall Asian spots that usually has a line out the door. We waited for 20 minutes in the rain to get seats. The sogginess and wait was well worth it.
My friend and I shared the Tea Salad, Curry Beef and Yamo Noodles. All of which were tasty and flavorful. The Tea Salad was a very good mix of sweet and spicy with a nice crunchy texture. The beef was incredible. The noodles were yummy and cooked just right.
This is one of those places that is really small with limited space that can cook and serve great food in a fairly prompt fashion without seeming to rush the experience. If you are chilling in the area and craving Asian food, this is the place you should find and eat at.
Maus Scale 1-10 (10 being unbearably awesome)

Ordering 8

Service 6
Punctuality 9
Food 8
Average 6.5
(keep in mind this is an average of very different service qualities. If I score Food a 10 for example and the average score is a 5 or 6 due to parking or location, it is still work trying if you like good food).
*please remember, those of you that are the kind of people that can't grasp gradual scales and only see black and white, that scoring a 9 or 10 is very difficult.
As always I like to tip between 10-20% on a scale based on quality of service. So even if you are a crappy waitperson, you will still get 10% (unless you were a total douche).

So today after driving around nearly all of SF in a 6 hour marathon taxi-fest I finally was hungry enough to turn off my driver status and find some food. I had ended up in the avenues and decided to use Yelp to assist me in finding nearby tasty food. One of the first listings I saw was for Uncle Boy, and a tasty burger really sounded good just about then. So off I went. Luckily I was only a few blocks away. So this was around 2pm on a Sunday, and this part of town was pretty quiet (if such a thing can be said about any part of SF). I found a parking spot in front and went on in. Uncle Boy is a very small little burger joint. There are some small tables inside but not many. They have a restroom for customers and it is in reasonable shape. As you probably know by now, I don't care for wrecked bathrooms, as they are a sure sign of indifferent management and lazy workers.
The service was great. The young lady taking orders was also the cook and she made a very good hamburger. You can watch them cook if you like since the place is so small. I ordered a Cowboy burger which is:
1 grilled Angus beef patty, 1 slice of American cheese, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 crispy onion rings topped with our cowboy sauce all in a toasted bun. $7.49 / Meal $10.59.
It was sort of on the small side as burgers go, but not so much that I was disappointed. I very much enjoyed it actually. Though next time I'll ask for more cowboy sauce. If you order the meal you get fries and a coke. I only got the burger as I was not super hungry.
